MISSION
The job holder is responsible for ensuring the compliance of consumer products at the national level in close collaboration with the European Regulatory Managers and local colleagues in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The job holder should have a very good overview of national pesticide, biocide and/or fertilising products regulations and laws, with sensitive inter-personal skills to persuade internal and external stakeholders.
MAIN ACCOUNABILITIES
- Major task and responsibilities
- Administrative local tasks to support the launch and maintain the products on the local market - including submissions/notifications/databases (e.g. label extensions, change requests (e.g. new packaging), poison centre notifications, …).
- Interaction with local regulatory and control authorities pre and post product launch.
- Knowledge of risks, budget and timing for each product within the portfolio and clear communication to the business.
- Support colleagues with the regulatory parts of the product labels to make sure they are following all requirements.
- Involvement in the appropriate industry associations and ensure that the local business is fully informed of ongoing issues that may affect them.
- Value added to the success of the company
- To ensure products can be sold until their end of life.
- To support effective new product launches
- Provide suggestions and ideas to the business for new projects, packaging, label extensions, etc to improve the sustainability of our portfolio and reduce human and/or environmental risk.
- Work relations (List the most important work relationships with internal and external partners/ customers)
- Interaction with local authorities / control bodies that are responsible for approving products and ensuring market compliance/safety.
- Work with SBM business and marketing (product managers) colleagues within the country to ensure a compliant portfolio and to inform about changes, risks and opportunities at product and policy level.
- Key link to European Regulatory Affairs Team on product registration matters.
- Interaction at the local level within industry associations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Knowledge on the national and EU Regulations relevant to our business including Biocides (528/2012/EC), Plant Protection Products Regulation (1107/2009/EC), Fertilising Regulation (2019/1009/EC) and Classification and labelling to help with compliant product labelling.
- Very good MS-Office-skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and affinity to using a range of tools/databases.
- Excellent command of the English language
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- BSc/MSc in Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science or equivalent.
- Or as an alternative at least 2 years working in a regulated environment e.g. pesticides, biocides or fertilisers.
